pilates
Pilates works by building strength from the inside out, rebalancing the body and bringing it back into correct balance and alignment. Pilates can help improve posture, which helps reduce chronic neck and back conditions, achieving the delicate balance between strength and flexibility. It is also a great way to relieve unwanted stress and tension and prevent injury in daily life.
Who is Pilates suitable for?
Pilates is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. It is particularly encouraged for those with a long history of recurrent back problems and is now recommended by many physiotherapists and orthopaedic consultants.
What’s involved?
Our Pilates classes are all tailored to the participants in the class. The instructor will speak to any new participants before the class to ascertain any potential problems or specific goals.
When do the classes take place?
Classes take place on Saturday mornings between 9.00am and 12.00pm and are one hour long. The cost for a group session is £15 per person for two people and £10 per person for three people.
Individual classes
One-to-one Pilates classes can also be arranged on a Saturday morning at a cost of £28.
Who is the instructor?
Vikki Davis, our fully qualified Pilates instructor, teaches all our Pilates classes, with a maximum of three people per session. This means that you will be carefully supervised so, even if there is a history of back or neck injury, you can be reassured of close attention.
